Harm Reduction Community Response was formed in 2020 in response to a protest against the opening of the Roehampton and Broadway shelters. What started as a counter protest quickly turned into a movement supporting our city’s most vulnerable residents.
HRCR aims to bring together like-minded people to provide assistance to those in our communities who need it the most, including (but not limited to) those who suffer from homelessness and insecure housing, mental illness, marginalization, and substance use issues. We also aim to educate our more privileged neighbours on Harm Reduction theories and practices, and the issues faced by our vulnerable community members
With HRCR members coming from different walks of life, we bring these different perspectives together to improve our communities for all people living in them.
